Wellness Coaching

You may have heard the terms “health”, “Wellness”, or “wellbeing” used interchangeably, however; they are their own domains with differing definitions. Health pertains to the absence or presence of illness and the ability to adequately meet the demands of daily life. Wellness describes a multidimensional continuum, that is both dynamic and closely connected. The challenges we experience in our wellness come from seeking a balance amongst all dimensions and addressing them throughout the various seasons of life. We help you to address your own wellness, including a focus on the following areas:

  • Physical Activity/Rest – Exercise, movement, sleep, rest, sexual health

  • Emotional – Recognition and processing of all thoughts and emotions both positive and negative

  • Environmental – Work space, home environment, sleeping space

  • Vocational – Personal, professional development, intellect

  • Relational – Relationships, communication, social interactions

  • Spiritual – Faith, values, ethics, morals

  • Nutrition – Focusing on nourishing foods, establishing a relationship to foods

  • Mind-body Connection – Maintaining presence within your body, understanding energy and fatigue, physical manifestations accompanying emotions

  • Finance – Mindful and conscious money management, establishing a healthy relationship with money, setting-short and long-term goals.

The Gap

When faced with challenges, it’s common to seek expert guidance and advice to gain knowledge and forge solutions. Unfortunately, although it is critical, education and information alone are not enough to facilitate a change.

The gap exists between the expert advice and the results you need.

Coaching can help to bridge that gap by helping you integrate the information and recommendations into your unique life and circumstances.

What is Wellness Coaching

Wellness coaching is a partnership in which you and the coach engage in a thought provoking and creative process to facilitate a behavioral change for the betterment of your health. This may include using wellness coaching to address your physical activity, your mind-body connection, your emotional health or even your career and personal development. Your coach will serve as a guide as navigate an evidence-based process beginning with creating a vision and ending with goals and actionable plan that considers barriers and staying accountable. You will gain clarity on what changes you want to make and how to make them a sustainable part of your life. Solidifying a change relies on the principles of neuroplasticity through action and feedback. Wellness coaching is about empowering you to be in the driver’s seat. The wellness coaching will include some of the following steps:

  • Vision

  • Values

  • Assessment

  • Focus

  • Goal setting

  • Prep For action

  • Action

  • Maintenance

Over the time period of 3-6 months you and your coach will navigate shortcomings and (more importantly) successes as you pursue the goals you’ve set out to attain.
